Photography Assignment: The Weightroom

I have tried something new this semester. I have taken a photography class to fill the empty spots in my schedule durring this last semester of college. It has been a very different experiance than how I normally learn photography and I still am a firm believer in web 2.0 and the online community. Really you can find lots of very creative photography resources online and I really think there is a great education out there that you don’t even have to pay for. It was nice to see the more traditional view point and hopefully I picked up a few things but I have missed doing my own thing. These photos some seen previously on this blog (now reworked) are part of a recent assignment about a place that means something to the photographer.

Love your pictures here, very well done, could just as easily be something you see in a workout magazine ad, awesome job.

what did you do to post process pictures 6 and 7? they look very much like something Jill Greenberg would do. I’ve been trying to capture that style for a while now.

If you mean 6 and 7 in the slide show then it is really more about lighting than the way I processed them. I did up the contrast in them. I also shot those with 35mm film the Kodak E100VS I believe. I underexposed them a bit so I brought that up to acceptable levels in post with a kick in the contrast and blacks to help it really pop. Hit me up via email or im if you want more information.

Ok I went on flickr and realized I did number these haha so I know which ones your talking about. Those were taken with my 5D and the lighting is important I will post the details on flickr because those were processed differently.
